Hi Sheila,
If you want the cheapest ticket, contact with some agent of the airlines and get the bets deal. DON´T deal directly with the airlines OR online bookings.

return tickets (inbound/outbound) are in most cases the much cheaper choice. therefore, buy a normal return flight ticket and just let the return flight expire.
in order to book a flight you get the best deals through the internet at expedia, flight center, travelocity etc. depending on your country you might also have some local websites.
in some cases the airline websites provide the best deals, though (e.g. delta offers a best fare guarantee for delta flights booked via their website).
