Subject: landing next month from US - pls some advise
  Hi everyone:

One of my friends referred me to this site. And going by the posts here, I m really impressed and hope to get some answers for my Qs. I searched all the 23 pages but did not see the post with my type of Qs. so i m posting it. I am on H1B in USA and I got my PP submission request last week. I have sent that and waiting for it to come. My Landing is expiring on March 12th 2005. so i will have to land b4 that. Lets hope my PP comes before that. I have few Qs:

1. I am in Texas, which post is best for landing ? Should I land by air or by ground ? I am not used to Very cold weather of North, I lived all my life in US in Southern areas only. So I was more inclined of landing by air ? but is it a good idea ?

2. I am single and not yet ready to settle in Canada ? I want to come back to US after landing. I read in one of the posts earlier that there was atleast one case that was denied landing cuz they rented a car for landing with 2-way.

3. what extra documents i can carry to convince them that I have every intent of settling in Canda eventually.

4. Finall if my PP does not come b4 that can I extend since its kind of CIC´s fault for delay.

I would really be thankful if you all can shed some light on it since time is very less.

Thanks a bunch
Oni

I can´t answer all the questions, but regarding landing and coming back to usa to work, you will need PR card to reenter canada, you can only apply for PR card while in canada and it takes about 3 months to come ! other wise you will have to apply for documents while in usa to renter canada from the canadian consulate. Id I were you would go to canada , get out of canada only after getting the PR card, since this way I will not have any problems in entering canada again

Well howdy, I moved from Texas to here too.
Wait for your PR before going back and forth, just to save a bunch of headache. It don´t matter where you get across it´s cold everywhere (I´m still not acclimatized).
Good Luck
