HELLO MY NAME IS GLAUCIA I AM CURENTLY LIVING IN BRAZIL, HOWEVER MY HUSBAND AND I PLAN ON MOVING TO CANADA. WE DO HAVE A FRIEND THERE THAT IS ATTEMPTING TO GET A VISA FOR US BUT I DO NEED BACKUP PLANS. I DID HAVE SOME CONCERNS ON JOBS AND HOUSING. IS IT HARD TO GET A JOB THERE? HOW MUCH CAN YOU MAKE THERE ON AVERAGE? HOW MUCH IS HOUSING? WE WERE LOOKING INTO RENTING AN APT IT´S JUST US 2 AND MY YORKSHIRE TERRIER (4KG). WHAT IS A GOOD PLACE TO LEAVE NEAR THE TORONTO AREA? WHAT IS AN AVERAGE COST OF LIVING THERE IS IT´S JUST 2 PEOPLE? HOW IS THE WHOLE IMMIGRATION PROCESS FOR LEGALIZATION WORK? AND AS FAR AS SCHOOL GOES IS IT HARD TO APPLY? WE BOTH SPEAK PORTUGUESE SPANISH AND ENGLISH FLUENTLY AND WE ARE STUDYING FRENCH AS WELL. IF SOMEONE CAN PLEASE LET ME KNOW I WOULD APPRECIATE IT THANK YOU.

(in reply to: RELOCATING TO CANADA-HELP!!!) 1- Stop typing in capital letters, it sounds like you are yelling.
2- It depends on what do you do for living and the are where you are going to live.
3-"HOW IS THE WHOLE IMMIGRATION PROCESS FOR LEGALIZATION WORK?"
If you are applying to obtain a permanent resident visa from Brazil, why are you asking this?
If you are planning on coming to Canada as a visitor and become a Permanent Resident, then you should re-think that again because that is not a good plan and you are going to fail miserably.
This is a big country, the economy, cost of living and employment changes between provinces.
You want to know how much a house cost?

Dog D (in reply to: RELOCATING TO CANADA-HELP!!!) You do not need to be a b....h to this person.
By the way Brazilian fellows.. Did you notice Dod´s friendliness? Well be prepared to deal with that type of attitude in Cagada( You know what this word means. Canadians don´t as they tend to be monolingual , excepting in Quebec and soe other regions). It is not what the propaganda tells you, however I bet there is less emphasis on social class than Brazil and it is also safer.
Toronto is expensive but is one of your best bets( along with Vancouver)Montreal sucks for jobs and non very immigrant friendly.
If you are really poor in Brazil, it is worth to come to make a better living. If you have a good job and a career, do not ever bother. Your experience will be worth nothing in here and most likely you will end up with a Mac donald job of working as a Caregiver.
First come on a holiday if you can afford it and have a look of what the Canadian life really is, then decide if this is really for you or not.

Come and work (in reply to: RELOCATING TO CANADA-HELP!!!) DO not allow your holiday mood seeing things "Rose Colour" as paradise happens everytime you are on holidays. Come here as a tourist, find an under the table job and get a real sense of the place. OF course you will be exploited and underpaid if you do it. You also can be deported if they catch you working illegally( However, in Toronto you may be able to get away with it).

RELOCATING TO CANADA-HELP!!! (in reply to: RELOCATING TO CANADA-HELP!!!) My caps lock was broken which is why I was typing in capital letters and if it bothered you than you shouldn´t even have answered. I did live in the States for 12 years however I needed to take care of some things here in Brazil and job in USA was pretty bad and we constantly found ourselves working a whole lot more just to try to make ends meet. I don´t plan on going anywhere illegal I know it would be a terrible mistake We want to get our visa by the end of he year and go visit in March because that´s when my husband gets his vacation from work.Hopefully we can see housing and jobs and the whole legalization process. I have been doing some online research but of course not all we read is true. I appreciate the info Vitorelli and I hope I can make this work.
