Subject: Worried about Common Law Application
Any answers/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I´m in the processing of applying to sponsor my common law boyfriend who had been living and working in Toronto from 2008. He currently has visitor status. The relationship part of our application is rock solid. The question is regarding his work history here in Canada. I didn´t realize up to this point that although he was supposed to have an employee employer relationship with his company it was not. He had an letter of employement when he came and again when he secured his 2nd youth mobility work permit. He signed a contract as an independent contractor and paid his own taxes.

When he puts that he was employed by said company he was but I don´t think in the right capacity within the immigration law. He´s not knowledgable about any of this and thought he was doing everything right. I´m really stressing out and making myself ill over this.

He is working and help paying the bills so the CIC Officer will respect that far more than if he is sitting on the couch all day long watching Judge Judy.
