Subject: Fedral skilled worker : NOC 1122
  Hi guys,

I have applied under Federal skilled category 1122 under new rules and my application was received by CIO (NS, Sydney) last week.

I have couple of questions if anybody can help
1. If my application was received by CIO, does that mean that the quota was not exhausted?
2. What would be the next step, I mean would they be contacting me on the status of my application?
3. How much time would it take for them to respond?
4. How would they be contacting me (through email, post or phone?)

Any additional information would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Grass hopper

Which government do you know anywhere in the world that accepts new immigrant applicants into their country in under a week?

1- no.
2- once they open the mail, it takes several months for them to assign you a file number
3- 6 months?
4- mail, post

you have a long wait yet.

1. It may be the case. What it means is they have received your file, nothing else.

2. Once they receive your file no it takes 2-6 months to assign a file number to your file.

3.They would be responding back to you with your file no. so you should be looking at the period of 2-6 months.

4. They will send you an email (if you have provided one in your application package) stating the file no and other details, hard copy will follow email but will take time (considering delays in post). If your case is not eligible then they will only send you the postal reply.

Hope this will help in waiting.

Best luck,
Nisha

You guys forgot that there is a whole new required documentation list. Everything is now required when one submits to the Central Intake Office.

The processing times from before until now with the changes will have to take longer. Many will forget to send in their IELTS or TEF so they will have to sent back.

Asking this question after one week seems redundant.

Sharon, Nisha & Roy, Thanks for the replies

Roy, please do not feel offended. I know it’s too early for me to ask this question. I asked this only because I really have no idea about the time it will take. There are different opinions of different people on this.

I am just curious to know how much time I need to wait and wanted to hear it from people you have gone through this phase/ process. I believe that is the whole idea behind this wonderful forum. Share your experiences, help those who need your advises/ suggestions.
