Ok, I am a US citizen, my fiance is a canadian, but has a permanent US residence card. We are both live in Texas, are NOT moving to Canada, but wish to have the wedding ceremony (with a texas marriage license) in Canada. Does anyone know if this is possible, and if it is not, then how do we go about it? PLEASE help me

Why not just get a provincial marriage license when you come to Canada? It only takes 20 minutes to get a marriage license. Just two pieces of ID required.

something to consider... should everything go sideways and you wish to file for divorce - you must file in the jurisdiction where you were married. Canada is a long way from Texas.

You can not get married in Canada with a Texas marriage cert. You need one from here if you wish to marry here.

OK THANK YOU ALL for helping me! One last question, do I have to be a canadian citizen to apply for a marriage certificate in canada?
