Subject: Is the Delay in buffalo real ??
  Hi,
Firstly I am most impressed by this forum because people actually seem to respond and help the needy unlike other forums.

my PR case started processing in Dec 2003 and I received my interview waiver and medical in Aug 2004. After I seent the medicals and the documents that they asked for I have heard nothing from them. This is the end of the 5th month after medicals.
When I call up the Buffalo office, there is a message that there is a 52 week backlog. Does it mean that it is going to take another year for my case to proceed or what is actual delay going to be.
I checked up at the yogi site and it shows the avg processing time to be 14 months in Buffalo. Is there anyone else on this forum who applied in Buffalo somewhere around the same time as I applied and in still waiting or has received his final request for passport documents?
I have appleied in the skilled worker category.
Thanks

Nishant

Is this backlog only for the skilled worker category or for the spousal sponsorship as well?

Let me know if you get anything.
Bye the way I am in canada.How about you??

Hi (in reply to: Is the Delay in buffalo real ??)
I am not sure if this backlog is for the skilled category only since they dont specify the category in the buffalo phone message. So I am assuming that the backlog is for all categories.

Hi there; here is my time line;
applied:January 2004;
AOR:January 2004;
IA:Aug 2004;
Interview waved, No RCMP,
Medical and other documents submitted on September 2004;
Still waiting for Passport request,
I think the delay is mostly because of the background check.
good luck

hi (in reply to: Is the Delay in buffalo real ??)
seems to be the same story everywhere. Everyone who applied around Dec 2003 and gave his medicals around Aug- Sep 2004 seems to be waiting. Do let me know if anyone made it through in this batch.

Hi kamlesh,
This is really encouraging news. This means some soul made it on the Jan 26th and our number could be coming soon too. Best of luck too all in this batch.
