Subject: Sponsoring my spouse
I am a Canadian Citizen who has been living/working in the US and also living in Canada when not working. I now have a son who was born in the US but I have already obtained his Canadian citizenship. My husband is from the US. We would like to move to Canada and work. Can my husband get some sort of Visa to work? Can he work while I an sponsoring him or I am the only one that can work? We would like to move soon but I am not clear how difficult it is to obtain some sort of visa so he can find work too? How long do you have to live in Canada to obtain this visa? Thanks for any help you can,
Wendy

Apply while you are both living in the US. You will need to show intent that you are coming home. If you come home... there is a chance they will turn him back at the border because it would likely be evident that he is not visiting. He can try for a work permit but he will need a job offer.

You are looking for family class, -outland.
