Subject: spouse sponcership - query about wedding license
  Hi,

When we took our marriage license, I did not indicate that I was married previously as we thought it would take a few weeks to get my divorce decree verified by the Ontario province. Now we have decided to apply for immigration as she is a PR here and I´m not sure how its going to turn out.

Any information would be great.

It may be ground for withholding material facts, setting the stage for misrepresentation.

Do you have children from the previous marriage? is one of the things that CIC would like to verify.

Thank you,

Hi,

No I do not have a child and I have a decree of divorce with me and we hardly stayed together for a couple of weeks when I was first married in 2006.

I have a decree from the family court on the basis of incompatibility and desertion

Hi Roy,

Thank you for your message. I´m just worried if it might be an issue with my PR application. The decree I have is back from the court in m country and it was a mutual decision between myself and my ex to get divorced.

Is your divorce decree something that is recognized as a divorce by your countries laws? Be careful if your from India there laws regarding divorces are very unusual.

Hi Roy,

Thank you for the response. Yes the divorce decree as I mentioned is issued by the family court in India. I want to know what will be the case when I submit my PR application with the copy of divorce as I did not mention so in my marriage license application.
