Am I allowed to travel to my home country in Pakistan?

My spouse and I applied for asylum. My spouse was granted refugee status and I was denied refugee status. Now I am a permanent resident because my spouse sponsered during the PR application and we were both granted PR.

I applied for travel document and I was told I have to my passport with home country because I was not a refugee and was not considered stateless!

That´s right you have a full blown valid travel document. Why would expect the government to give you a travel document?

Funny enough, you applied as a refugee fearing your future in your home country, yet it seems to be good enough now to go for a visit?

You are good to go, your wife in the other hand may or may not be questioned about her visit if she was granted a refugee status and now she is going with you for a visit.

hmmm

Travel at your peril.

They cannot offer you protection unless you are a Canadian Citizen.

As a legal counsel might argue, you can´t go back until you are a citizen. CBSA might make a report and etc.

I would not go back because it may cast doubt on my refugee claim.

Some genuine refugees accepted in France have not been back to their country of origin for 20 to 30 years. When they make their claim and get accepted, they are told that one certain country in the world they are not allowed to go.

I think Canada should introduce this method one day.
