Subject: clarification about CAIPS
this is the reply I got from CIC about access to CAIPS notes by applicants not living in Canada...

´Hello, Whomever is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or presently in Canada is entitled to file an access to information/Privacy request.´

what that means is those of you who are applying outside of Canada are still stuck with the old system of having a Canadian friend/relative do it for you, or paying the $30 to the robbers.

hi ... (in reply to: clarification about CAIPS)
Is it advisable to get a copy of the CAIPS information. Is there any chance that this might further delay the processing.

see some of the other threads. ordering caips notes does not change anything about the processing of your application. As to their usefulness, the verdict is out. I say they are a waste of money.
