Hi
I was born in Canada in 1958 to British parents who returned to the UK when I was still a baby.
My husband has the chance of a job in the USA just over the Canadian Border,
1. can I apply for Canadian citizenship
2. Can I sponsor my husband
3. Can he work in the USA but reside in Canada?
4. If either of my grown up children decided to come over could they apply for Canadian citizen through my birth?

If your parents were in Canada under a diplomatic mission or with a diplomatic status at the time of your birth you are not a Canadian citizen eventhough you were born in Canada.
If your parents were doing something else (from being illegals to legal workers etc) you are a Canadian citizen and you don´t have to apply for anything. All you have to do is apply for a Canadian passport at the Canadian embassy.
You don´t have to apply for citizenship you already are. Your birth certificate is enough.
As a Canadian citizen you may sponsor your husband to come to Canada as a Permanent Resident from abroad.
Regarding your children, it is a kind of long to explain here but contact the Canadian Embassy. Depending when they were born, they may or may not be Canadian citizens already.

Hi I have just read your thread. I too am in sort of the same position, and I am wondering how you got on. My children are 8 and 10 and I am wondering if they are canadian citizens like me. Please get back to me to tell me how you got on. I was going to reapply and get my canadian passport (I live in scotland now) but for quickness i am applying for my britsh one, but i am now wondering that if i get my british can i apply for my canadian next year, I also don´t have a citizenship card as we moved back 33 years ago. hope to hear back from you, if not i hope all went well for you.
