Hi all,
I have received my immigrant documents to enter Canada with a passport stamp valid till end of March. I will be landing with my family in Toronto end of Feb.
What all documents do I need to carry with me. Any idea what questions will be asked by the immigration officer @ the toronto airport.
Things that I know...
1. Landing documents
2. Passport
3. Bank Statements(for proof of funds)(Last 6 months should be Ok right ????)
Is that all or do I need to carry any other documents (school/college certificate, work experience letters..etc.).
Initially i will be staying at my friends place. Will they take the application for PR and SIN at the airport itself or do I need to go to some office in downtown after I land to apply for my PR and SIN card ? Also whats the approx. timeframe to get my PR card and SIN card in Toronto.

The most important thing you could carry is CASH! Lots of it. The rest is not a worry.

Hi Mili,
Nice to know about your landing plans. When u reach Toronto the immigration officer may want you to show the proof of funds in cash (depends). They will fill up all the information there.
Once u r out of Airport in next couple of days go to CIC and apply for your SIN card. It takes one month to come to your place in mail. You need to give a mail address at the immigration any address.
PR card takes one month and it comes at your door step in mail so is the SIN. Once u receive PR card then only you can go for Health card.
After getting all these cards u r ready for your job search in theland of Laboureres.
Try to look for an apartment in Mississauga area as rents are lower there.
