Subject: Delay in processing-applied dec-2006-outside Canad
Applied for Canadian Immigration in Dec 2006 under Federal skilled worker category. Still no responce from embassy. No exact reason for the delay is being given.

Any advice or help on this......

Do you have a file number? Have you moved?

The rules have changed twice since 2006. Go to www.cic.gc.ca and take the self test to determine if you qualify under the new rules. If you do, I would urge you to withdraw your application and apply under the new terms. Those applications are being processed first.

I do have file number. The reason for not withrawing the apolication is that under new terms I am not eligible. With this it is like wait and watch scene.

Embassy is not providing any reason for the delay in processing the application stuck for a long time. Is there any one in the embassy from whom one can get the right picture.

there is no delay. Fortunately, or unfortunately, CIC cannot return all the pre-2008 applications saying sorry - you do not qualify - they have to be processed. However, those files are now being used as top-up when quota space is still available after the post 2008 applications have been looked at.

It is frustrating but there are not too many options. Something to consider - if you no longer qualify, there is a very good chance that finding work once your application is complete might be very difficult. They have reduced the NOC codes for a reason.
