I am a Canadian citizen, I am planning to travel outside the country for a year, is it possible? How many months do I have to return back to Canada so that I would not loss my citizenship.

You won´t be allowed back in unless you spend AT LEAST 5 years in Tibet once you leave Canada. On the other hand, it is not too expensive to live in Tibet.
