Hello everyone,
I came to canada as a student to do commercial pilot training in september 2008. I was given a student permit on arrival till January 2010 and I renewed it for september 2010. I am yet to finish my training since I had to change schools, had bad weather, school was closed due to winter olympics and I took an ´qualification course´ for a program for about 4 months(sep - dec 2009). I had asked for the latest renewal of study permit in august 2010 for extension till feb 2011.
I informed Immigration canada about my change of school and also about the qualification course which they did allow( because it was under 6months course). Now they have emailed me that my application is to be reviewed by the local immigration office. My friends have been telling me that it means I will be deported.
I am not sure what this means, Am I going to get my study permit revoked and be deported? I have not taken any work over here and also have not got into any trouble with the law.
I am very worried as I have spent a lot of money and not to mention time 2 years of my adult life. Also I am having significant problem with the practical training side of my flying and I have been having a lot of trouble with it and hence another reason for the delay. I am a bright student(passed all my exams on the first try) but I am not a natural pilot. Will it be possible I can try asking for a change in education to something to do with computers(I have an engineering degree from india)?
I love Canada for its culture and people and would love to study and work and settle here and be a good citizen but I am worried that will not be possible. I am gay and don´t want to go back to my country as that is not tolerated by my country or my parents.
Any advice will be much appreciated.

So your Gay, who cares, what has that got to do with you complying with your temporary resident status.
They have sent your application probably to Niagara Falls CIC to be evaluated. They will contact you for additional information.
