Subject: How to notify the change of address
I need to know the right procedure to notify immigration officer in Buffalo Center about the change of mailing address.

I submitted my skilled class permanent recidency in Nov - 2004, and until today I haven´t received my file(case)number yet. I have moved to a new place. I didn´t try to notify them before because I thought I would get my case number before I moved. Now it seems like it´s gonna take more time.. so I don´t want to wait any more before I notify them.

Please if anybody knows I need help.

OK, there are two ways to do this.

1. Fax the new address to this number in Buffalo:
(716) 855-0512. In subject write "CHANGE OF ADDRESS"

2. Send a letter by USPS in Express Mail to the following address:

CANADIAN CONSULATE GENERAL
IMMIGRATION REGIONAL PROGRAMME CENTER
3000 HSBC CENTER
BUFFALO, NY 14203-2884

Do both so that you make sure they get it.

Yeah dont use the online tool...
I changed my address using online tool and then was expecting my IA to come to the new address but the people in buffalo did not update the address and my IA came at the old address...
I actually got my IA after like 45 days and then I had only 2 weeks to submit my medicals and stuff.. It was a bad experience... I´d suggest if you want to avoid such problems... send them a FAX of the address change form that comes with the AOR.

Now... if you havent got the AOR then you will have to wait or be checking at the old address all time so that you do get the papers on time..
Cheers,
HS
