I became canadian citizen a few years ago, i went back to Hong Kong to get marry and have two kids there. I did not pay any income tax in Canada as I wasn´t able to get a job, I didn´t declare non-residence either.
Now I would like to sponsor my husband and my kids so that we can return to Canada together. Can anyone advise me what to do.Much appreciated!

Why would you want to sponsor your kids? Did you not obtain Canadian citizenship for them when they were born?
Income is not an issue if you or your husband have employment opportunities.

Hi Yongyong,
Because you are a Canadian citizen, your kids, even though born in Hong Kong, are automatic Canadian citizen. However, before they can obtain a Canadian passport, they will need a proof of citizenship. To get this, visit the Canadian High Commission in Hong Kong and speak to a consular officer. He or she will be able to advise you on how you can go about applying for a Citizenship card for your kids. It could take upto a year to process. Also, the consular officer may be able to tell you about how to go about sponsoring your husband to Canada.

I left Toronto almost 19 years but I usually came back there every five years for drivers´ license renewal. I am planning to return Canada. But I hold the old Canadian Citzenship Card.I heard somebody said I need to activate my all cards including Health Card and Citzenship Card if I need to live in Canada.Is it true ? If I really need to activate all, do I need to stay there continously two years within the five years cycle.
