Subject: Could you sponsor PR to your borther and sister? |
Hi all,
Is it possible to apply married sibling (brother or sister) for Permanent resident? If yes under which family class category?
Thanks in advance

I am married and my family (husband and daughter) is with me in Canada. Is possible to apply PR to my Brother (who is married) under family class?

(in reply to: Could you sponsor PR to your borther and sister?) Go to www.cic.gc.ca and search for Operational Manuals, then click on Overseas Processing, then click on Family Class OP2 then look I believe at 5.24 section.

(in reply to: Could you sponsor PR to your borther and sister?) No no and no.
OP2 5.24 applies only if her husband was dead and no other relatives are alive. Then she could sponsor another family member.
She has a husband and a daughter, under her current situation she cannot sponsor her brother who is also married.
Her only option would have been under the Alberta provincial nominee program family stream but that programmed was cancelled about two months ago and I don´t think she is in Alberta anyways.
The only think she can si provide an extra 5 points under the adaptability factor if her brother qualifies as a skill worker.

(in reply to: Could you sponsor PR to your borther and sister?) well she may end up finding the hubbie gone... so to say, and then go for a brother to immigrate. No biggie
