Subject: Would it be possible for us to get a conjugal visa
So my boyfriend and I have been together just under a year and when a year rolls around we want to apply for the conjugal visa. At the moment I cannot get a job in my field in Canada due to the fact that you must be a resident to be certified there and I have no residency there yet. So I can´t apply as a skilled worker as no one will offer me a job without being certified there first. We have tons of evidence that our relationship is real as we´ve visited each other for a month at a time basically since we started dating. We tried getting a joint bank account but due to our residency status were unable to, so if anyone knows a bank that gives out multinational bank accounts that would be great. Now I know the CIC officer will probably ask why we haven´t gotten married yet when we apply. The answer to that is emotionally and spiritually we´re already married in our hearts so we don´t really see the point in signing a paper that states that we are committed to each other 100%. Anyway if anyone has any advise on this visa or anything else that may help us, it would be greatly appreciated.

Conjugal visas are virtually impossible.

Your philosophy of marriage is fine and dandy but CIC really does not care. Married, or common law is the rule. Conjugal is primarily designed for couples where divorce is illegal in their home country, or it is a same sex couple and there is personal safety concerns.
