Subject: Outland Spoual Application

I sponsored my spouse from outside Canada. My spouse has not received any letter yet however my spouse received a call stating that an interview is schedule & items to prove the marriage is genuine should be brought.

Is it normal for this to happen i.e.the call before the letter?

How many interviews are normally done?

Will this be the interview that determines whether the application is allowed?

How long after the interview do you normally get a response?
What should my spouse bring to prove the marriage genuine

Try to get the CAIPS notes to see why the visa officer decided to call the applicant for an interview. They usually list the specific concerns they have.

All in all whatever you initially submitted was not good enough to have the interview waived.

Hard to say what she needs to bring or what are the points of emphasis without knowing the story of you relationship.

Normally there is one interview that determines the outcome of the case.

The visa offices I deal with usually communicate the decision shortly after the interview.

How long does it normally take to get the CAIPS notes? The interview is set for December 9th (approx 3wks)would this be enough time for me to request & get the CAIPS notes and would it include the information for my spouse (the applicant). Can I the sponsor request & get the CAIP notes as it relates to my spouse. Our marriage is a genuine marriage I just want to provide whatever they may need and not leave out anything.

Thanks

Another question would requesting the CAIP notes include information from the (outside of canada) visa post that is interviewing my spouse & would requesting the CAIP notes cause any delays in the process

Another DIY Spousal Application sinking fast.

Time all your concerned about is when this will happen or how long this will take.

YOU HAVE A PROBLEM!

Until the interview takes place there is virtually nothing in the CAIPs that could help you.

YOU MESSED UP by not not providing sufficent evidence that your relationship is genuine and that is why it was sent for an interview. Focus on getting additional evidence that your partner can submit prior to the interview and even additional stuff for the interview.

CAIPs take a minimum of six weeks and they are printed in Ottaw. Ottawa sends them to you not the Visa Post.

I understand what you are trying to say Roy however I am not primaily concerned with

I just need to provide the information that would be considered as relevant information.

What would be considered relevant information that is viewed as good enough by Immigration.

Thanks

bank accounts, plane tickets, greeting cards, emails, photos, letters of confirmation from relatives, joint leases, credit cards, phone bills. if your relationship is unusual due to culture or religion, and explanation of why and how it works.

In the case of family class applications, CIC assumes you are lying - so prove otherwise.

Roy,

you are killing me man. I am going to keep this line for future reference....

I was actually able to get CAIPS in 2 weeks through St. Clair. The request was made under privacy act. It was not the full blown package that come from Ottawa when the request is made under the ATI and you pay the $5, but it had most of the important stuff on the CAIPS.

At any rate, the notes can also show that no evidence is missing but it is an issue of actually having enough evidence to show it is MOC...who knows right?
