Is it ok to leave the country after citizenship application has been lodged? What lead me to ask this question is that, I got a job offer from another country and I wanted to go there, because, although it´s a temporary job, which would last a year, it´d give me a chance to built better cv because of being quite challenging. It would raise my chances of getting higher pay job once I come back. In next month I´ll be eligible to apply for citizenship. So I´d like to know if it is ok to leave the country after I send in my application.

(in reply to: Citizenship question) Yes.
You may have to come back to write your test and come back again for your citizenship ceremony. Make sure that you leave a valid mailing address and someone can keep you inform of any mail from CIC.

(in reply to: Citizenship question) Thanks for your answer Docd. But, one more question though;how long does it usually take to process citizenship application?According to CIC website, it takes 15-19 months. I´m wondering if there was any case where application have been processed faster than that time frame. And again thanks very much for your reply.

Citizenship question (in reply to: Citizenship question) It might take less than 15 months, and it might take 4-6 months only. There are several factors involved.
Finally, congratulations and enjoy your new job.

(in reply to: Citizenship question) No, it doesn´t take 4 to 6 months. You shouldn´t advise if you don´t know.

(in reply to: Citizenship question) "During the processing of your application for Canadian citizenship, you should only contact CIC if you:
*change your address;
*plan on leaving Canada for more than two weeks in a row ..."

(in reply to: Citizenship question) @EDU So that means I need to inform CIC before I leave then. I´m not sure it´s gonna change anything, but I have sister living here and planning to impart authority to her so that she would be able to communicate with CIC if anything arise.
