Hi my partner and I (both females) applied for refugee protection and have our interview in January. I am hoping that we will be approved and get to stay here. However I have heard of so many people´s claim being denied.
If we are denied and sent back to my country, can my son (26 years old) who is a Canadian citizen sponsor me to come back?
Your answer is greatly appreciated.

(in reply to: Refugee Claimant) Seems to me, you both have no problem of being sent back; that´s not good, which means your case is not strong enough that you probably be denied of refugee status. As far as I know, in order to be considered as refugee, you are required to prove that there is life threatening situation/imprisonment back in your homeland and sending you back is not an option.

(in reply to: Refugee Claimant) Your son will be able to sponsor you if his income is sufficient. Also, he must be living in Canada in order to sponsor you. The process of sponsoring parents currently takes approximately 5+ years to complete.
