I saw an earlier post about Career Bridge and wanted to respond but it would not let me.
Career Bridge is a good program but please do not get false hope. The posters friend may have landed a paid internship (that is what their positions are) without proficient English but this would be a lucky break. All candidates are screened for English skills through an in person interview (in Toronto, although the program is national the screening is now done only in Toronto).
The positions are paid internships. Some lead to full employment and many do not. They are designed to help newcomers get paid work experience in Canada as many well qualified professionals find their international experience is not recognized by Canadian employers. You cannot apply to Career Bridge if you are not already in Canada.
Career Bridge gets many more applicants than it has positions available. Being approved for entry into the program after the language screening does not guarantee you a position. There are thousands of people approved every year, and at most a couple hundred internships.
