| Subject: Can fingerprint (for FBI record) taken outside US? |

Hi,
Applying for Canada immigration and already residing in Canada. Can I print out the FBI fingerprint forms and get fingerprints taken here in Canada? The FBI website seems to imply that the fingerprinting should be done within the U.S.?
Anybody know for sure?

no problem. I did mine in Europe and sent it over to the states. took awhile though

Do this as follows: 1)write to FBI and ask them to send you a pair of blank fingerprint forms; give them the necessary US info, like SSN etc... 2) take the blank fingerprint forms to the nearest RCMP and pay to their services office the fee for printing your fingers. 3) After your fingers are printed by the RCMP on the FBI forms, send those forms back to FBI for verification. 4) Wait for the results from the FBI... may take upto 2 months; make sure you give them on the forms your current address in Canada.

Thank you for the replies. By the way the FBI website has the fingerprint forms online, so just need to print them out on cardstock. That´s the way the FBI FAQ suggest it to be done.

Can anyone tell me where I could get this done from Portugal, where I am currently living. It is very difficult for me to travel there. I am already a Canadian citizen living here in Portugal.
