Any knowledgeable advisers pls help, Doc D, Roy, Sharon
I applied for a investor visa way back in 2007,thru Scotia Bank financing.Unfortunately, I did not land before the expiration date which is June 2009, I wrote to the High Commission In Singapore, and was told to reapplied all over again. With the existing new rule, whereby the net worth and asset value was increased, i am afraid i do not qualify. How can I get my money back,(US 125,000) I have spoke to Scotia Bank and was told to write to CIC and all I got was a automatic response, that said to reapply again.By the way this was before the new rule came into effect. Is that possibly any way i can get my hard earned money back.

Please help

When the www.cic.gc.ca site says "YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF" that is true to a point.

When you need to resolve stuff like yours that site does not provide you with appropriate contact numbers and e-mails that would allow any member of the public the same access that CIC allows authorized representatives to have. They send us special e-mail addresses so that we can speak to supervisors and managers.

Authorized representatives will not complain or pester unless it is a clear evidence that sufficient processing times have passed or if there is a clear reason to contact the correct department to resolve an issue.

You got money so if you want your 125K back you need to understand someone who works to get back your money should be reimbursed. Therefore you need to sign a IMM 5476 Use of Rep form plus, retain them.

Anonym... it is around 1.6 million CAN$; Canada basically copied the number from the US, which needs 1.5 million US$ (so much for originality). I pity that Singaporan... either way, he lost substantial amount of money. The guy must be slightly under-developed: with Singapore itself becoming a target for illegals from many parts of the world, he somehow saw green in Canada!!! Well it is snow white in Canada. Well good luck folks... If ya got 1.5 mil US$, can´t you find good things to do in your own country and have a life???
