| Subject: close work permit to open work permit |
Hi guys,
i work in Canada under closed work permit. Now my boss is really making my life like hell and i can´t find another job because i´m under the closed work permit. can i convert my closed work permit to be an open one? if so please advise how can i do so.

the only time I am aware that CIC will issue an open work permit is if you are a refugee or you are waiting for a spousal sponsorship application to complete. Your current permit is tied to your job. Your only options is to suck it up, or leave the country and try to secure another permit with a different employer.

i wonder if the "close work permit" pertains to when you indicate in your Work permit application form as "other".
my agency picked "other" in "type of work permit applied."
