Subject: Keep trackable records in Canada

I received piece of advice from more than one person that I need to keep a trackable record that proves that I do live in Canada (as government discovered that many people claim they do live in Canada while they live abroad), as I might be asked after applying for citizenship to prove my residence in Canada. Now, other than credit card records and medical records, is there any thing useful to keep footprint for? As I know, some people let other people use their credit card, which I don´t think it is an effective way to keep such track. Medical record is a good method, but is there any other method that might help?

Please tell me about your experience.

Keep old passports. If you leave Canada to go somewhere on holidays ask the CBSA officer when you come back to stamp your passport so you can keep track on "the time" outside of Canada.

Normally CBSA don´t stamp the passports of Canadian citizens or Returning Residents.

I know one guy who got employed from day 2 of his arrival; he simply wrote down where he worked since arrival in Canada; they never asked for a thing.
