Subject: File transfer Date
  Hi Sharon,

I got my CAIPS notes (applied at Buffalo in Dec 03; IA in July 04; need interview), and the bring fwd date to NY for interview is one day after the first "anniversary" of RPC receiving my application.

To your knowledge, do they actually transfer the file on the day they say on the CAIPS noets ? Or is it just a default date that they put on all applications ? Am I certain to hear from Buffalo after the file is transferred ?

Thanks,

KG

You will receive a letter from Buffalo informing you that your file has been transfered. It generally takes 6 to 8 months to transfer a file and the same amount of time after that to schedule an interview. So you are looking at a total of 12 to 16 months (on an average) after your IA to get interview.

The bring forward date mentioned on the CAIPS notes is just a date on which an immigration officer will look at your file if someone has not done so before. Do not expect to hear from Buffalo after that date.
