Subject: Maintaining residency

I have a friend who is PR and employed outside of Canada by Canadian company. What is the prospect of her residency-ship if she is employed more than 3 years outside of Canada?Will she lose her PR status? She will continue to pay the tax and file the tax as if she reside in Canada. Would it make any difference?
