While surfing the net this morning I found an annoucement regarding a CSIC Consultant making a trip to Lahore Pakistan in December 2010 who will be attempting to bring Registered Nurses to Canada.

That person claims he was a Immigration Consultant from 2001. IMPRESSIVE, LOL!

That person goes on and on about only retaining a Certified Immigration Consultant and how bad Ghost Agents or Unauthorized Consultants are and to retain only CSIC Members. This information can be found on his web site!

When one looks closely at this CSIC Members web site they will see he became a Certified Immigration Consultant in 2008! This is found by noticing his CSIC Membership number starts with MO8.

***FOUR YEARS AFTER CSIC CAME INTO EXISTANCE***

So he worked as a Ghost Agent/Consultant who was not authorized for four years! Yet he goes on and on about not hiring those that are not authorized.

He has by his own admission possibly less than two years of (real) actual experience.

Now on this persons site their is audio of him telling members of the public to only retain authorized immigration consultants. How did he get on the radio? He was not there talking about an unusual case he assisted with getting a positive result.

When deciding to retain (anyone) to assist you with your application no matter what it is, it is necessary you do your own due dilligence and check references and do not get fooled by an impressive office, web site or a nice suit.

Remember the CSIC membership number (MO4----) that starts with the following number MO4 is from 2004 and that will prove they have been certified at least since the year 2004.

If you see a CSIC Membership number starting with MO9 or MO8 and they claim 18 or 19 years experience as a Immigration Consultant while at the same time going on and on about (only) retaining a Certified Immigration Consultant who is a CSIC member you need to ask questions.

Remember ethics can not be purchased.

If it is too good to be true, RUN!

Understand something clearly.

I wanted consumers on this forum and others seeking Immigration advice to do their due diligence when retaining anyone and that includes Lawyers recognized by a Provincial Law Society.

It is not a personal attack on anyone.

I was not trying to promote myself more than others. I was trying to pass on a little knowledge to anyone as to how to prove if one is experienced by informing all about the CSIC ID # which is also explained in the IP( Operational Manual.

I do not tell people that they should do something (hiring only certified consultants or members of CSIC) when I also claim that for four years I was doing the Immigration Business representing clients when I had not been certified.

I do not call myself an expert because that is against my regulatory bodies Rules of Professional Conduct. No member of CSIC is allowed to call themselves an EXPERT or an Immigration Specialist as some are assigned that status by the LSUC.

The issue here is when hiring a representative he/she needs to prove that they are experienced. Knowing how long someone has been doing the Immigration Business after certification is very important.

If someone tells you to only retain Consultants who are certified then claim they were doing the business when they were not certified is illogical. The question you need to ask is this someone I personally would retain after learning this information?

I am not allowed to comment directly about other CSIC Members nor Lawyers and this site does not want that either.

What I was trying to say is that some Counsels have a huge staff, big office, fancy car, great clothes and a super web site. Others pay newspapers to post their stories or a Q & A with readers.

Regardless of if any authorized representative is regulated do your homework and get references, ask who will be working on your file, how many times does my money allow me to meet with your personally etc. etc.

If the Counsel your considering makes claims that he is an EXPERT with having being only certified two years previously, RUN!

Whoops I forgot he claims that any person should only retain a Consultant who is certified & a CSIC Member yet he was a Ghost Consultant for four years.

I claim you should check the persons qualifications, ascertain their experience as it relates to your personal situation, ask them to show you PROOF that they have won cases as it relates to your situation, ask how they are going to increase your chances of success legally, who will be actually handling my file, etc. etc.

This Monday a potential client came into my office all stressed out. They are a PR facing removal due to a lie they told. I showed them that I currently have over 30 active appeals at the IAD in which three were removal appeals for which I had obtained stays of removal from Canada on behalf of my clients.

If it walks like a Duck, Quacks like a Duck but can not swim then it is NOT a Duck!

dear ´what a mean guy´

1) I do not own this website so which posts stay and which posts go is out of my control
2) if you know nothing about immigration, why are you here in the first place?
3) as the owner of this site has clearly told me when I asked... as a courtesy to those who help here, a website address is not blatant advertising and is allowed. That is true for Roy, Amir, and anyone else that chooses to help here.

If a consultant only comes here to advertise - that is another story.

If you don´t like who participates at this immigration site, you are more than free to find another one - there are lots to choose from.

Roy you don´t know all the facts about this guy.

All you know is that:
- he states he was an Immigration Consultant from 2001
- he became a Certified Immigration Consultant in 2008
- he was on the radio

"He has by his own admission possibly less than two years of (real) actual experience."

That´s your conclusion Roy, not his.

Do you know, for a fact, that he was working as an immigration consultant from 2004 until 2008?

Facts well that is a challenge.

Consumers of Immigration Advice including Mark;

To find out how experienced any Certified Immigration Consultant go to www.cic.gc.ca and search for Operational Manuals.Inland Processing then IP9 Use of Representatives and read Appendix (B)

Found here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/ip/ip09-eng.pdf

The Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants became the regulator of Immigration Consultants in 2004.

Sorry Mark I made a mistake he claims he was an
Immigration Consultant form 1991 not 2001!

What have I told you Mark (also known as) some other name. (Immigration Consultant Visiting Pakistan). The information was sent out by Linkendin.

Can;t be too hard to narrow the field.

Somebody calls them self an expert. They promote themselves as a CERTIFIED Canadian Immigration Consultant. That no consumer should retain any Consultant unless they are (CERTIFIED)yet he worked for at least four years probably longer as a Ghost Consultant.

(HIS NAME) "is a group of immigration EXPERTS which possesses more than 50 years of combined experience and proven track record in immigration consulting and support services".

That is a quote which is on his web site!

NO CSIC MEMBER IS ALLOWED TO SAY THEY ARE AN EXPERT BECAUSE CSIC DOES NOT GRANT THAT DISTINCTION TO ANY MEMBER!

Since he possess a 2008 CSIC membership number he would have been working as a CCIC for those four years or he would have had to reapply and obtain a higher number.

Since he has a 2008 CSIC # and claims he has been doing the business since (1991) he would have been doing the business for four years after regulation.

All Consumers of Immigration advice need to know how to research various advisiors and to understand who to select based on their experience.

I can understand why he posts about being certified is because the vast majority of his clients are outside of Canada and they want to know who he actually is. Pretending to be a good guy who is regulated while all the time actually being a Ghost Consultant for four years leads me to think that something is amiss.

Was he unable to pass the CSIC initial entry exams from the beginning when you only needed to prove you had assisted 10 clients previously and he had been working since 1991?

Until C35 is finally Law anyone can represent anyone as long as they do not intend to do so after the application is submitted or infront of an Officer. Yet now he screams DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO

My son will not allow me to get away with that logic.

Since this person could not resolve any client´s problems with their applications after they had been submitted how much of an asset was he for four years to his client´s?

Just trying to educate those consumers seeking Immigration advice.
