| Subject: can i sponsor my wife while imn't living in canada |

hi....
i got PR in 2009 & went to canada to receive my SIN & PR card. at that time i lived for in canada for 2 months so couldn´t get the health card. later got back to my home country in asia.
later i got married. now want to apply sponsor my wife for PR. can i do it while im in my home country? or do i have to get back to canada to do that? my intention is, if PR of my wife is processed, then together we´ll go back to canada.
need your suggestions.

Since you are a PR - you can only sponsor your wife from Canada. You must also continue to live in Canada while the application is being processed (short trips of a few weeks out of the country are allowed).

You have to be in Canada to sponsor her as you are a Permenant Resident. If the sponsor is Citizen then only he/she can apply from outside of Canada. Spousal sponsosrs
Do the marriage and then come here with and sponsor her and provide all the proofs (Marriage card, marriage certificate, photoes, honeymoon trip ticket, etc...)

SORRY FOR CONFUSION IN ABOVE ANSWER, I DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND MY ANSWER WAS POSTED, I MIGHT HAVE CLICKED SUBMIT BY MISTAKE.
You have to be in Canada to sponsor her as you are a Permenant Resident. If the sponsor is Citizen then only he/she can apply from outside of Canada. Spousal sponsosrship is quicker if everything goes smoothly.

i had applied for my PR in 2008, finished medical, paid the PR fees and am waiting for decision about my PR. In the meantime i got married, we both are now working in the US. should i apply for my wife´s PR right now or should i wait for my PR and them apply. i´m confused cause it might take 12 months or more for her application to be processed and i might get my PR in the mean time. someone please advise??

Add your wife to your application now. This is your only real option.
If you wait until you have your PR and land - then you will never be able to sponsor your wife because in the eyes of the Canadian government, she will no longer be considered a member of your family.

Not just that, vc will be charge for misrepresentation and CIC will come after his/her PR.
If you are married and you haven´t landed you have to include your wife in the application NOW and BEFORE you land in Canada and become a PR.

I am a Canadian citizen, lived in Canada for 7 yrs. For last 3 years, i have been living and working overseas and got married. i wanted to ask if i can sponsor my wife being living out side of Canada through a Canadian Embassy in my current location ?
