| Subject: How to get home - Please help |

Just wondering how a failed refugee applicant from China would get home if travel documents have been lost / destroyed....Chines ID card lost during a move, expired passport destroyed.
Stuck in detention for 48 days now have provided personal info to CBSA but is there anything else that can be done to speed up the deportation?

Not really, it is up to your government to provide the proper documentation in a timely manner so the agency can send you back.

When one makes a refugee claim all Identity documents are confiscated to establish ones identity. Remeber the Tamil´s in BC?
No one can make a refugee claim against any country without establishing identity that they are a citizen of said country.
Now you have no copy of your passport?
Never listed the passport number in your personal information form when making a refugee claim?
Never listed your Chinese national Identity card when making a refugee claim?
CBSA/CIC never asked for these documents?
There is not a chance your getting out so have someone go looking for that expired passport!

The problem is that a lot of people try to make the claim without the documentation and then their claim doesn´t go anywhere, they get detain and it becomes a pain in the rear end to deport them and they end up in detention. Until ID, citizenship and a new passport is obtained you are going to be waiting in the Fantasy Hotel (Detention centre) for many more months to come.
I am pretty sure CBSA/CIC asked for the documents and he failed to provide them.
