As you are aware, there is NOWAY to contact CIC for your PR card from outside of canada, you are correct. Please note that CHC - NEW DELHI cant help you in this matter either.

This is the main reason, I encourage people to stay until atlest they receive their PR card.

If you want to return back to Canada without PR card, you have to apply to NEW DELHI visa office for TRAVELLING DOCUMENT. Processing time for that is 5 working days.

Best luck,
Nisha

During the landing interview, did the officer ask you, "Are you planning to travel outside Canada?"

You PR card is supposed to be mailed to your home address in Canada within 6 to 8 weeks? Did you make arrangements so that someone else would take care of that PR card and sent it to you by mail?

The officer will not ask if you are planning to travel outside of Canada, the answer to that question is completely irrelevant to the landing procedure there is no need to ask that.

If you didn´t receive the card, it´s either:
a) You didn´t provide the right address
b) Lost in the mail

You can contact the Canadian embassy and they will give you temporary visa to come back to Canada.

During the landing interview, the officer asked me, "Are you planning to travel outside Canada in the next 6 months?"

If I had been, I would have received my PR card on urgent bases rather than 4 to 6 weeks delay.

Thank you for consideration.

I landed on 13 July 2011and waiting for PR card (in reply to: Urgent - PR status inquiry outside canada)
Still (31 August)I am in Canada and waiting for PR card. I wantto go back to do my job in Japan on 13 September, 2011. I am really worry about the situation. After landing, the immigration officer told us that it will take 6-8 weeks to get PR card. But its 50 days now, we did not get PR card. I am worried about the system here that they will send the PR card by general post mail and there is a chance to loss. I applied for credit card and the send me the credit card by general post mail and it lost. I am wonder that like a credit card or PR card as an important document for us but they send it general post mail?? Why they do not want to send by registered post mail??
