Subject: NOC changed under which category i must apply?
  Hi Sharon,
Hope you are doing well.I a regular visitor to this blog and keep seeing your suggestions. I appreciate you for all this help. Now I´m in of of such situation where i need a advice.

I´ve applied for PR in early 2010 and soon i received acknowledgment from them and later i´ve been asked to send them the ielts score, proof of funds, police clearance etc.I´m an Indian but i studied in Australia for 2yrs.Therefore, i had to submit the police clearance from both the countries. For obtaining both the PC it took me around 2-3 months. And i missed the 120 day deadline which they gave me to submit the docs.Meanwhile i also requested them for "extension" of time limit as i couldn´t find the dates for ielts.

My lawyer in canada said they granted us the extension. But then after a month when i already sent all the docs to them i´ve received a mail stating my file was "closed" boz they didnt receive my docs. But im sure the culprit is the courier company through which i´ve sent the docs with.

Now after reading all your posts i´ve come to the conclusion that its waste of time to appeal. So i´m thinking of opening a new file. But the problem here is the NOC under which i applied for the first time is not available now.The occupation list is changed. What to do in this case?Under which category should i apply now?First time it was "Computer Trainer".The embassy will have my data with them. Is it possible for me to apply in any other category? Please HELP ME !! I´m totally confused.

Thanks !!
JD

There are no suitable NOCs on the current list. The closest is likely 1122 - Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management. However 1122 has already reached the 1,000 cap and no further applications are being accepted. Here´s the full list:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

If you have decided not to appeal, then your only option is to wait until next summer when the NOC list is updated and hope that it includes a NOC that you can apply for.

NOC - 2x? (in reply to: NOC changed under which category i must apply?)
Hi JD,
Hope you´ll have your time to re-apply in the nearest future and I wish you luck. I´m just thinking, would it be wise to send exactly the same sets of docs twice, and one after the other (I´m actually referring to possible add´l docs later after the bulk application has been received and in process-usually entails fewer paper requirement). May sound crazy, expensive and tedious move, but would that really work? Would it be taken against the applicant if CIC gets the same file? Would a letter addressing the circumstance help to explain why a 2nd batch can be expected? Each applicant has a different reason for applying and some may take others mistakes lightly, while most will not (it takes a lot of stress, money and time to finally come up w/ a completed application, agree???). Has anyone done this before and does this makes sense?
Thank you for your time. GK
