middle east unrest - processing times

Subject: middle east unrest - processing times
  for those of you hoping for any sort of visas coming out of Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Jordan and Yemen...

please be aware that in some cases, Canadian embassies are closed or may close because of security concerns. Last I was told, you cannot get near the Canadian embassy in Tunis or Cairo. Many Canadians have been called home. When they will return to their posts is not clear.

That means that any implied processing times for any sort of application simply cannot be counted on at the moment.

I am sure many of us are cheering for those who are asking for democracy and freedom but unfortunately, that comes at a price and this is one of them.

I asked on Friday if any memo had come down stopping removals to Eygpt and I was told no but....they can´t get flights to remove people who have been deemed removal ready.

and yet I am hearing flights are going back and forth with empty seats.

hard to know how this is all going to play out.
