Missed my IRB hearing, my papers were sent to the wrong address, did not even know. It came and went. have an interview with CBSA now because my work pernit expired and I asked for a renewal. I got scared and married today my 2 year long common law who is a cnadian resident. My interview with CBSA is in 2 days and I have no time to submit sponsorship application. Our marriage certificate arrives in two weeks from now. Most probably for what I hear I will be handed PRRA, this I don`t know for sure, since my IRB hearing was 4 months ago and according to a consultant, IRB now thinks I abandoned my claim which would mean that I have been "in hiding" accoring to them since september 2010.
My CBSA Interview is tuesday feb 8 2011
This are my concearns:
1-Can I be detained and deported the same day?
2-Does me getting married today to my 2 year long common law canadian resident help at all?
3-How do I apply for IRB to repopen my case if me getting married will not help?
Note that I missed my hearing because my IRB hearing letter got sent to an old address, I have been updating my address everytime I move, my intentions were never to miss my IRB hearing date, this is the most important part of the whole process.

There is an on-line change of address service available in Post Canada website.

And after moving, it is advised that you maintain contact with the owner (tenant) of the old address in order to retrieve any mails.
