Subject: Points on education for doctor
I am a doctor and i did my MBBS from Pakistan. I then came to US and completed family medicine residency which is of 3 years. I also passed American Board of Family Medicine too. How many points would i get in education?

Thanks.

Use self-assessment tool readily available on CIC website.

You are a doctor and yet you have difficulties reading instruction from cic and simple maths????
And they asked why we do not allow foreign trained doctors to practice their trade here.....

Hey Anonymous! Before you make a comment about another´s command of the language, take a look at your own language skills. The idiomatic phrase should be "simple math;" not "maths." The term "math" in this context is considered to be a collective noun. Plus, when you cite "they" to whom are you referring? Another point, if I may, is that medicine is a profession; not a trade. Often instructions from "cic" are in themselves oxymorons. (If you wish, I will gladly quote some of these assinine "gems" if you so desire.)It might just be that the doctor was trained in another language other than English. His command of the language may or may not be an indicator of his abilities. However, to jump to your conclusion seems to me to be a rather gigantic leap indeed.

Thanks Charlie. I appreciate your comment. English is not my first language but i am trying to learn it the best i can. I wish people would be as understanding and non-judgemental about others as you are. Wish you all the best.

Good morning Dr. Leo,
Please be patient. The immigration process is very slow and often times discouraging. Do not give up hope. Eventually it will all be worth it.
