Subject: Inland sponsorship application

I have a couple of questions I would appreciate any sort of help...
An inland process is a two stage process right?are u notified if the first stage is accepted?? what does it mean if your not notified about anything?.
My other question is does the prosess take about 19 months from the day its recieved in Alberta or the day its recieved at the office where its being processed (example : Mississauga office.

Thanks in advance

This is an example for an inland spousal application. You can check your application status on CIC website.

We received your application for permanent residence on March 24, 2005.

We started processing your application on June 14, 2005.

Medical results have been received.

We sent you a letter on November 07, 2005 to 1234 st, Canada , about approval in principle for you to become a Permanent Resident of Canada. If this address is not correct, please contact us. Thank you.

We sent you a letter on February 21, 2006 to 1234 st, Canada, about the decision on your application. If this address is not correct, please contact us. Thank you.

all family class applications are 2 phase. first the approve the sponsor and then it goes on to approve the applicant.

The sponsor will get a letter indicating 1st phase approval.

How long depends on the country of the applicant. CIC offers processing time for the sponsor - inland applications are significantly longer than outland. Then you add on the APPROXIMATE time for the applicant country. If you have to provide a second round of info, or an interview is required - it all adds on time.

How far along are you in this process? If it is not far, I would seriously give thought to withdrawing your application and applying OUTLAND. It is far faster and there is an option for appeal should something go sideways. You give up that right with an inland application.

Even if you are currently residing/visiting in Canada, you still can apply outland.

Sometimes, it takes a while to hear from CIC when they are processing inland applications. I originally applied this way myself but ended up withdrawing after seeing a lawyer. I got my PR a month ago. I used services of Ivan Steele Law Office (www.ivansteelelaw.com) and they were great at getting my PR after only 3 months of waiting (outside Canada).

Another Fish story.

47 days to approve the Sponsor from Mississauga CPC so you got approved with background checks complete in a month and a half.

Wow that includes them mailing you a request for your passport and CIC giving you your COPR Confirmation of Permanent Residency as well.

Well that is a very believable Fish story remionds me of that car insurance commercial with that little green guy.

I suppose you have the winning 6/49 Lottery ticket tonight as well. LOL

How much did Ivan pay you to post this?

if you don´t have first phase approval (and it sounds like you don´t, then you still have a ways to go.

I sent in my application for spousal sponsorship Dec 08 2010, to Vergille AB, the CIC website says that they are now processing applications recieved in May 2010; my question is can my application be approved before the CIC website gets to Dec 08.

Thanks

no. and that is only 1st phase approval. Application then goes to the embassy of the applicant.

We always recommend Outland applications for this very reason.
