Subject: Need help. Question.
i have recently applied FSW application in November 2010. I am planning to marry a Canadian Citizen soon. Can i apply again separately using spousal sponsorship ? Do i need to withdraw this FSW application to apply via spousal route. Also if i go to Canada on work permit and is found to be eligible for PNP can that be started separately too ?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi drleo,

If you wish you apply for spousal visa, you have to withdraw the recent FSW application.

I am not sure about two independent application at the same time but if I think critically, it should be possible.

Look at pros and cons of both the application and its timeline and then take the decision.

Best luck,
Nisha

FSW and Spousal Sponsorship (in reply to: Need help. Question.)
drleo,

You are trying to achieve eveything at the same time and you may not get anything out of it.

Answering to your questions, YES, you can submit a separate spousal sponsorship application without withdrawing FSW application. Both will be processed concurrently but you got to withdraw one at the time of approval of either one of the files, whichever comes later.

If you get WP and wish to go for PNP option, it depends on many factors such as province, type of job etc..

I think if you get married, your FSW application will get cancelled since your status on your FSW application is single, thats what my lawyer tells me, I am in a similar situation.
