Subject: Need Help please... Sharon or Nisha?
I´ve landed Nov 2009 and been working since. How long would it takes to apply for my parents PR application to be approved? Should I start applying now or wait till they are ready to live here permanently? Both of them are in good health with no known illnesses.

Hi,

I would suggest to apply now, as current timelines are very lengthy. first part of approval (sponsor approval) is taking around 36+ months and then the file will be transferred to local visa office and the timeline for local visa office depends on the country. Specifically with the new decision to cut down the immigration from govt. it will be harder to get parents visa approval soon.

So by the time everything is ready, your parents might be ready to come stay with you as well.

Other then that you can call your parents on visitor visa while you have applied for PR.

Best luck,
Nisha

Rejection (in reply to: Need Help please... Sharon or Nisha?)
Hi all,
Today we got a letter from cic stating that our case might be rejected on medical grounds. We have a son who has a disability. He is not on any medications or is not physically handicapped. He has communication disorder and requires speech therapy and is in a special ed. classroom.we wanted to know if there are any private insurance which we can get for our son to cover all the cost of speech and any other therapy he needs. Please help.

We are really sad as we thought once we have passed the IA where we had clearly stated everything about our sonīs condition we would not have any more problem.Anyway if anyone can help please respond.
Thanks.

sorry for your disappointment. There is nothing that can force you to take out private insurance - that is the problem.

It would appear that Canada does not want to take on the medical costs for your child.

did you include letters from your child´s doctor outlining his long term medical requirements? Whatever you can do to assure CIC would help your situation.

good luck.
