I have a situation that is somewhat complicated, and wondering what is the best way to go about getting permanent Residence in Manitoba and Canadian Citizenship for my Fiance.

I am a Canadian Citizen, have been for 30 years, my father(Deceased) was Canadian, and my mother was a US citizen, immigrated about 30 years ago.

My was in a long term relationship for 1 year before i went to the usa to be with my Fiance, we both agreed we didnt like the USA and decided to come to canada.

Long story short.. we had alot of hassle at the border and they only gave her 2 months on the visitor pass(imm1442)
(Q)shouldnt we have gotten for imm1000? landing record.

She lives with me, and has support from both my side of family(Canada) and hers(USA)

I am currently separated(from EX wife), been so for over 1 year.

Bank wont open an account here for proof of sustainability.
(Q)does proof of money need to be in an account IN CANADA?
we still have our account in USA with both our names on it.

(Q)what do we do first?
visit extension to 6+ months?

(Q)change form?
we have a form printed out to change her visitor pass to spouse/comonlaw/conjugal.

(Q)any reason NOT to send in this form change or extend visit?

we need to do vital things like Permanent Residency, Manitoba health card, SIN card, etc but are stuck in a catch 22 of need 1 thing before we do the other, with no starting point, its very frustrating.

money is no problem, nor is a place to live, we love each other very much, and want to live our life here in Canada, to raise a family, build credit, get house, etc.
She is very worried due to lack of information on the process, and conflicting information we are finding on government sites, vs what other people have done.
It seems as if the way the Government wants it done is much different than how it could be best done.

Time is deff. not of the essence.

PS: ok not so long story short, but i left out how we were treated at CBSA :/

If there is anyone out there that can give good advice, please do reply, thank you
