The spouse of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident is allowed to live in Canada along with the dependent children. The applicant must show the proof of marriage and show the intentions to live with the spouse after their arrival in Canada. The Canadian resident must be an eligible sponsor and must be more than 18 years of age. The successful migrant can enjoy all the opportunities the Canadian Government has provided the permanent residents like they have the rights to live, work or study in Canada as well as the access to government-funded health care along with much more other benefits. An application for sponsorship will be made for spouse no matter he/she is living inside or outside Canada. Some conditions are applied to a sponsor like he will be responsible to provide financial support for his/her spouse and dependent children for a couple of years. They three have to meet the additional requirements along with medical examination they will have to undergo and some sort of security clearance.

(in reply to: Spousal Visa, spouse of a Canadian Citizen) Sana, this is not applicable to you until there is a marriage, and until your husband is approved as sponsor. Inland applications take over a year for first phase approval.

When you quote things out of context it confuses people into making serious mistakes.

Medical Exam (in reply to: Spousal Visa, spouse of a Canadian Citizen) Hi,
The Canadian embassy requested for me and my son´s medical exam because I applied for spousal open work permit (my husband almost 4 yrs in canada). During the exam the doctors found abdominal mass and breast mass in me the OB gyne advise me to undergo Hysterectomy cause I have myoma. But in my mammography there were benign mass and the doctor´s advice repeat ultrasound and mammography after a year. I want to know in this condition of mine do you think the embassy will deny my application and entry in canada? will this affect my son´s paper? Thanks for your reply.
