Subject: Safe localities in toronto
Me and my husband along with our 2 yr old daughter are planning to move to canada in June 2011. I am associated with the healthcare field and my husband is a telecom engineer. We have no clue about the various localities in toronto since this is our first visit.

We would like to know if anyone could suggest localities which are not very expensive (maybe rents between 500-900 cad a month for 1 bedroom), safe, nearer to schools and less travel time(good public commuting system) to work places...

Any information/opinion would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Shareen

You must understand that the further you are from the centre of the city the lower the cost for accomodation.

$500 a month not likely.

Your best opportunity is to rent a basement of a house with a separate entrance and a sliding door to the back yard if the home is located on a hill.

thanks Roy....so what are the other localities in and around downtown toronto....since v r new i have absolutely very lil idea abt the geography of the area....any other residential localities nearby which we can afford....maybe after we settle down we could afford a higher rent accommodation...but atleast for the initial stages we would like something not more than 900 CAD...

Thanks

Bibi Shareen, try to find in GTA not near the downtown Toronto. schools are everywhere, GTA transit system is good, so you should try in Mississauga, Brampton area.
