| Subject: What are the chances? Visa for Venezuelan |

I have struck up a relationship with a Venezuelan woman. We have been talking for over a year, and I recently returned from a vacation in Venezuela that I spent with her.
We tried to get her a Travel/Temp Visa to come to Canada last year, strictly to travel and show her some of Canada which was rejected for a few reasons(Regulation 179)...
- Her Travel History (she lived in Italy for 1 year but she did not include this in the application - obviously we will this time)
- Her family ties in Canada and her country
- Limited opportunities for professional development in her country of residence
- Her personal assets and financial status
The last reason was because they say that I didn´t show proof that I had the money to take care of her while she was here.
We want to try again but part of me thinks it is a fruitless attempt because she is:
1) Single
2) No Assets
3) No Children
Now, this time around, I can easily prove that I have the funds to look after her. But really, am I fooling myself here thinking I can legitimately and honestly get a Visa for her to come and see Canada for a trip?
Any tips would be appreciated!

Thanks for the reply DocD. Is your comment from experience? Or just your best guess? This is all new to me. It certainly makes me not take my freedoms availed to me as a Canadian to travel pretty much anywhere in the world on a whim for granted.

Thanks for your replies. Obviously not encouraging, but nice to have the truth.
I guess I´ll be planning another trip to Venezuela in the near future.
