Subject: Expecting a child, Husband PR and US Citizen
I am a Canadian citizen. My husband is a PR and a US citizen. We are planning to have the child in the US because his family is there to help us along the way but also sobthe child will be automatically a US citizen since we are planning to move there eventually. My question is, what paperwork do I need to file for my child to obtain their dual citizenship?

For Dual citizenship check the US govt. website & Canadian govt. website, for all the required paperwork.

Best luck,
Nisha

US govt and Canadian govt WEBSITE? Which one? there are millions of websites. You gotta love that advise!

If the child is born in the US, he/she will be a US citizen, then all you have to do is to register him at the Canadian Embassy.

Right at the embassy, they will provide you with the forms.

If he/she is born in the US, same thing. The child can be registred with the US Embassy in Canada.

It doesn´t really matter where he is born, he can still be a dual citizen.

DocD,

I was in hurry while replying so just mentioned that. But if the person has a common sense can google for dual citizenship for Canada and US and will find definite website and answers there.
