Subject: Self-employed vs professional experience? Quebec
A friend of mine would like to immigrate to Quebec. She currently lives in Spain and is in the process of closing her small business that has failed due to the economic problems there. She is strapped for money and is worried about spending $400 on an application that might be denied without a refund. She does have enough money to satisfy the 3-month living requirement but not much more.
The question is: will her experience as a business owner translate to the "professional experience" required for a skilled worker visa? She took the evaluation on the gov´t website (denoting her time owning the business as "professional experience") and it reported that she is eligible. The only thing we want to be sure of before completing the application and sending it is that they will accept her self-employment as "renumerated employment" as they require.
Thank you!
