Subject: Citizen spouse (Wife, Husband)
Hello everyone, great forum. Hope someone can provide advice. My story is this; My husband and I live in our home country. He is a naturalised Canadian citizen, but has been back here for over 15 years. We met 10 years ago, got married and now have three wonderful daughters. They are all Canadian citizens by birth abroad of a citizen(my husband) My concern is this: The kids have been hounding us to take them for a visit to canada and we would like to, but I would need a TRV. How difficult do you think it would be for me to obtain one, seeing that my husband and kids are Canadians? A point to note is that we have an established and profitable business here, property, and family and my husband has no plans whatsoever to return to resettle in Canada. He has not even visited since he´s been back. I also have good travel history, have a ten-year US visa and have visited the US twice before with the entire family. We travel for vacation annually (short 2-week visits), but this time the girls are bent on visiting Canada. I would hate that they would not be able to visit their second country of citizenship because mommy has been rejected for a TRV. They say they won´t feel comfortable going if I can´t go.lol. Guys, what do you think my chances are in this situation? Is it possible, or would I just be wasting my time applying for a visa? Thanks for your response.

Thank you for saying this is a great forum. It truly is.

Common sense will prevail you will highly likely get a Canadian Visitor Visa. You have traveled abroad and return to your country of nationality.

You have a valid reason to return.

Now focus on the reason to go and what you wish to see. If your coming to the Toronto area do not say the CN Tower or Niagara Falls even if you wish to see that.

Pick unusual things like the girls want to see First Nation people and their history etc. How about a Moose, Polar Bear, Grizzle Elk etc. in the wild so you would be going to some Provincial of National park. Focus on what Canadian´s are most proud of the nature and natural beauty of Canada.

Pick something that the average Canadian knows about but has probably never seen themselves because they have not just gotten around to it.

Do not think negative think positive we are going to see A, B, C & D make reservations and show them.

Have a great trip.

Thanks a lot, Roy. Ironically, those two places which you mentioned are the top places on the top of our list, since they have been hearing their father talk about it for years. I had planned to state that our main purpose was to visit the Niagara Falls. My husband has a brother who still lives in Toronto, but we would prefer to stay in a hotel, since we are a fairly large family. So I won´t be able to provide a letter of invitation. Oh well, it doesn´t hurt to try.
