Hi everyone,
I applied sponsorship for my father in-law in the begining of Jan 2010 from then e-cas shows "in process" but now it shows "application received". I would like to know, what is the difference between "in process" to "application received" in term of sponsorship? If someone explain highly oblige.
Thanks

(in reply to: Need clerification please.) Time ------ and you never checked how long the process in Canada would be to sponsor your partners father.
They are doing September 7 2007. 42 months and reunification of family members is a corner stone of the Immigration act. IRPA 3 (1) (d) and the funny thing is the politicians call those processing times PROMPT PROCESSING A 3 (1) (f)
To answer your question there is no difference.
You probably have another 30 months to wait to be approved as a sponsor.
I hope by the time Father In-Law is asked for medicals in 50 more months that he will be able to pass same.
Now there is an election so use your vote wisely.

(in reply to: Need clerification please.) Hi Milo,
Just a little clarification, you have mentioned that you have applied for your FATHERINLAW. You cant sponsor, your spouse has to apply for him. You can be the co-signer on the financial support forms.
Read the guide it doesnt mention INLAW as an approved relation for sponsorship under family class.
Best luck,
Nisha
