Subject: Sponsoring an Ex-Husband?
  Hi All!

Here is my story:

I was married for 10 years and I have a child with Husband#1. I divorced him in 2004. After a few years I met husband #2 who sponsored me to Canada. I arrived in Canada as his spouse in 2008 of August. We separate in 2010 of March (So we were together for only a year and a half). I have visited my child 6 months after initially entering Canada and once a year after that. I have also started things up again with the father of my child (Husband #1).

Here are my questions:

When should I file for divorce with Husband#2? Does it matter?

Can I sponsor my first husband?

What is this 3 year thing I keep hearing about? Do I have to wait 3 years before I get a divorce or apply for sponsorship of Husband #1?

Please help...

Hi

It does not matter.(as soon as possible would be better for the process)

Yes you can after you get married again.(but you will have to provide good proof of your relationship when submitting a sponsorship app)

No this doesnt concern you since you were the applicant for PR and husband #2 is the sponsor so he is the one responsible for u three years after you land meaning that if you go on walefare your husband will have to pay it but keep in mind in order to sponsor husband #1 you cant be on walefare )

Common Sense people!!!

Lisa you got divorced in December of 2004.
You met your husband #2 and got married, sponsored to Canada and Landed in August of 2008.

How long did that process, take?

19 months after landing you separate from husband #2.

March 2010 separate so March 2011 you can file for divorce! You must live separate and apart for one complete year to file for divorce!

Even before legally divorced your ready to jump right back into the frying pan and get married again!

Darn Toot en it matters when you file for divorce, when you separate, when you submit a sponsorship.

Your sponsorship forms will state when you separated from husband #1, when your divorce was finalized, when you submitted your sponsorship, when either of you proposed, when you got married to husband #2 etc. etc.

Plus how your relationship developed again with husband #2

Real estate is location, location, location!

Immigration is timing, timing, timing!

I am not saying that your relationship with husband #2 is not genuine or entered into so he can gain a benefit under the act but you need to consider others viewing it that way.

You need lots of luck!

Roy she got sponsored by her 2nd husband, not the otherway round. lady you seem to enjoy the soap opera, between two husbands. I could advise you but I will save the energy. Your Husband 2 is responsible for your expenses for 3 years since your landing; hope he is aware of it! AFter you get DIVORCE from husband 2, you will have to wait 3 years before filing sponsorship for the new (OLD) husband. During this time, you certainly can meet him and mate with him to your heart´s content. I doubt that you can short that time period.
